Canyon Camp (Grades 3-8), June 18-23
Come and experience Lazy W's take on the traditional resident camp experience. Using elements from the long tradition of Christian overnight camping, we've built a program that utilizes the unique terrain and landscape of Hot Springs Canyon. While our 'Classic Camps' at Lazy W have a Conference-style program model, Canyon Camp looks more like a model known as "Small Group Camping."
Campers live in a cabin group with other campers their age and gender, with full-time supervision by trained counselor staff. During the day, "Family Groups" of boys and girls rotate through the entire variety of activities camp has to offer, including: Archery, GaGa, swimming, Bible study, team building, nature, crafts, music, popular team sports, drama, and games. Campers in middle school experience the Adventure Tower and Mountain Boarding. Camp staff share their faith and musical talents, leading the campers in worship throughout the week. Each evening includes a camp wide activity, campfire, and vespers in the cabins. Tremendous opportunity exists for campers to make new friends, while growing their independence, and deepening their faith.
Little Canyoneers (Grades 1-3), June 25-28
For younger campers, this three-night program is a great way to start enjoying camp. All of the best parts of camp are scheduled in an age appropriate way for our youngest campers. Trained counselor staff guide campers through exciting activities, dynamic worship, and beloved camp traditions. This is the perfect age for children to begin enjoying the outdoors, tasting some independence from parents and family, and learning how exciting a relationship with God truly is. The counselor leaders are caring and dedicated young adults, who serve as dynamic role-models for your children. Lazy W summer camp programs value fun, safety, and enrichment equally.
Adventure Camp, June 25-30 (Grades 7-10)
For those seeking excitement and connection, Adventure Camp is the place to find it! High octane activities provide fun and challenge all week. Up to 12 campers, plus staff, stay together all week, forming a tight knit community where everyone gets to know one another. Most days in your session, you will travel off-site for a specialized activity experience. For 2017, we will spend a day at the Challenge Ropes Course at UCSD, travel to Big Bear Lake for an overnight with boating and biking, and surf under the guidance of instructors. There will still be time for out grate activities at Lazy W, like the pool, archery, and Mountain Boarding.
Elementary Camp (Grades 3-6), July 9-14
Campers travel in small groups, with caring, fun counselors, to a variety of activities. They will spend time exploring nature, worshiping, playing games, learning archery, laughing, swimming, hiking, singing, making crafts, learning about God, living in Christian community and building friendships that will last a lifetime.
Jr. High Camp (Grades 6-9), July 16-21
A week at camp offers a lifetime of opportunities. Campers will experience interactive worship and meaningful Bible Study, learn how to live in a tight-knit Christian community, and will make new friends while spending time with old friends. Additionally, campers are given the opportunity to experience many of the camp classics: songs & skits around the campfire, archery, free time at the pool, team-building, games and so much more.
Sr. High Camp (Grades 9-Graduated Seniors), July 23-29
Delve deeper. Explore faith. Develop relationships. These campers are given a great deal of freedom in choosing activities and how to spend their time at camp. Worship & Bible Study occur daily with an emphasis on individual spiritual growth and the wider Christian community. Campers are also offered tons of fun traditional camp opportunities like talent shows. dances, campfires, s’mores and plenty of pool time.
